Applications are accepted only through ERAS.
Our interviewing season is November - January.

Below are answers to a variety of frequently asked questions about our application process.

  • Applications for July 2009 will be considered in September, 2008.
  • We participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). We interview selected International Medical graduates who have demonstrated an outstanding academic record and a long-term commitment to family medicine/ primary care. Experience through a transitional or internship year in the US is encouraged. The University of Connecticut requires non-resident international graduates to obtain a J-1 visa for enrollment in residency programs. Passing scores are expected on the first attempt on all USMLE exams. We will look for your personal statement, three letters of recommendation (one from a family physician), your Dean's letter, and your transcript.
  • Our application deadline is December 31, 2007.
  • Our program does not offer any externships or observerships.
