Fourth Year Electives

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine offers a variety of fourth year clinical clerkship experiences at sites throughout the greater Hartford area. Electives are available in Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Anesthesiology, Laboratory Medicine,Medicine, Obstetrics and Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Neurology, and Nuclear Medicine.

These electives offer the medical student a chance to experience a variety of clinical exposures as well as an opportunity to spend a month or more in a new and challenging environment. Often, this experience is so successful that the medical student is drawn to the University of Connecticut for his/her residency program.
