UConn Health Center’s Fellowship Eligibility and Selections Requirements

Fellowship Eligibility

Applicants with the following qualifications are eligible for appointment to the fellowship program:

a)
Graduates of residency programs accredited by ACGME
And one of the following criteria below:
b)
Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
c)
Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
d)

Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications:

1.
Have received a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates prior to appointment, or,
   
2.
Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are training.
e)

Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school.

H-1 visas for fellowships are not supported by the University of Connecticut Health Center.

Fellowship Selection

a)
Fellowship Selection is based on the applicant’s preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. This University of Connecticut Health Center Fellowship Program does not discriminate with regard to sex, race, age, religion, color, national origin, disability, or any other applicable legally protected status.
b)
In selecting from among qualified applicants, this fellowship program participates in an organized matching program, the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
c)
