radiology
Active pediatric radiology services are present in the program. Pediatric radiology faculty are skilled in a full range of services needed for children, and are actively involved in the education of residents through patient studies, consultations, and weekly conferences for all services. A pediatric radiology elective is offered to residents at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and special electives in specific areas of pediatric radiology can be arranged. Opportunity for research in pediatric radiology is offered to residents in areas such as orthopaedic radiology.
The range of modalities employed in pediatric radiology includes radiography, tomography, ultrasonography of neonates and older children, computerized axial tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and angiography. In addition, interventional radiology for children is available through coordination with the appropriate pediatric subspecialists.
