The division addresses general infectious diseases and conducts a comprehensive program for children with AIDS at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

Current areas of study are: host defenses in the neonate, neutrophil function, tick borne diseases including babesiosis and Lyme disease, varicella, streptococcal infections, rheumatic fever, pharyngitis, chronic fatigue, and AIDS. Residents interact with division faculty frequently throughout the service and elective months, and may also elect further service and/or research months.
