Affiliated Hospitals

Connecticut Children's Medical Center
The State's only comprehensive freestanding hospital is dedicated completely to the care of children and is the largest pediatric center between New York and Boston. The 123-bed facility includes 12 pediatric intensive care beds and a 26 bed neonatal intensive care unit. It offers a complete range of pediatric subspecialties and is home for the residency programs in pediatrics and medicine/pediatrics.

Hartford Hospital and the Institute of Living
Sharing an extensive medical campus with the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hartford Hospital is an 850-bed acute care, regional, medical center providing care in all medical specialties. The Institute of Living provides comprehensive care and treatment for psychiatric and chemically-dependent patients.

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center
With two campus locations in Hartford and over 600 acute care beds, it anchors a regional healthcare system which includes the Hoffman Heart Institute of Connecticut, the Saint Francis/ Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center and the Rehabilitation Hospital of Connecticut. An advanced Computerized Physician Order Entry system brings added safety to patient care at Saint Francis.

John Dempsey Hospital
A 224-bed hospital at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, provides highly specialized inpatient, outpatient and primary care services. The Health Center contains most of the departmental research laboratories as well as the medical, dental and graduate schools.

New Britain General Hospital
A 362-bed acute care facility located in a nearby community of more than 70,000 people, provides a full spectrum of medical and surgical services. The hospital is a Connecticut affiliate of the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.

The Hospital for Special Care
A 200-bed, long-term acute care hospital specializing in long-term mechanical ventilation as well as rehabilitation. It has programs for orthopedic rehab, brain injury, spinal cord injury and medically complex conditions. It has one of the largest ventilator dependent patient populations in the country. In addition, the hospital has a 30-bed pediatric unit for technology dependent and medically complex children.

The Department of Veterans' Affairs, in Newington is an Ambulatory Care facility that services military veterans. Clinical services provided include Primary Care, Specialty Care, Mental Health and Diagnostic Imaging.
